The Machado Lab

Our major research focus is to understand how stromal-epithelial interactions drive mammary gland development, and identify mechanisms by which the stromal and immune microenvironments contribute to breast cancer risk and progression. We use genetic mouse models, ex vivo heterotypic cell cultures, and genomic approaches to address important research questions.
